Kia ora <<First Name>>,
Welcome to the first eBreve for 2023. We’re gearing up for an exciting and busy year with both Choral Connect and Sing Aotearoa to look forward to, as well as some major new projects to roll out this year and next.
We were thrilled to learn just before Christmas that NZCF has won a substantial grant from the Ministry for Culture and Heritage’s Regeneration Fund. You can find out all about the new initiatives we’ll be implementing as a result of that funding by listening to the RNZ Concert interview included in this eBreve. You’ll also find ads for two new NZCF positions to coordinate these projects.
Two of our flagship national events, Choral Connect and Sing Aotearoa, will intersect at the end of September, enabling singers and conductors to more easily attend both. We’ll let you know via eBreve when registrations are open, and we look forward to revealing further details of presenters and showcase choirs over the coming months.
It's really not that long now until NZCF hosts the 13th World Choir Games in Auckland in July 2024. This is a tremendous opportunity for a wide range of NZ choirs and singing groups to participate. We encourage you to discuss this with your choir and to put the World Choir Games in your 2024 schedule.
While there’s so much going on in 2023 and 2024, it’s important for the Governance Board to look ahead to the future and how our organisation might continue to evolve.Your needs and aspirations are an important part of our strategic planning and I encourage you to take part in the survey included in this eBreve, so you can have your say in the future direction of NZCF.
Thank you for whatever role you are playing - whether as a singer, conductor, committee member, volunteer or concertgoer - your contribution is vital to NZCF. And if you’re in one of the recent flood-stricken areas of the country, kia kaha for the road ahead as you pick up the pieces to carry on.
Ngā mihi nui
