In this issue: Meet our new Chair / Life Membership for Juliet Dreaver / The Big Sing regionals in June / Welcome to new sponsors: Summerset / Songs of peace for World Choral Day / APRA reporting made easy
Dear <<First Name>>,
A key theme of last month's AGM was the invaluable contribution our volunteers make to the success and sustainability of our organisation, both at governance and regional level. As we farewelled our outgoing Board Chair Juliet Dreaver, we paid tribute to her tremendous dedication and inspiring vision. We are delighted that former Vice Chair Warwick Harvey has stepped into Juliet's shoes and his own shoes will be filled by Pete Rainey. We are thrilled that Karen Grylls has returned to the Governance Board (having previously served from 2007 - 2014) and warmly welcome Igelese Ete to his first term.
We can't wait to see our high school choirs back on stage this month at The Big Sing. Given the barriers to rehearsing while in Red during term one, the sheer fact of performing will be a cause for celebration! We hope you'll support our tamariki by coming to a Big Sing gala concert near you. Of course, these festivals couldn't take place without the support of our funders, Creative NZ and the Ministry of Youth Development, and our long-term national sponsors, Tour Time. And this year, we're excited to welcome out newest sponsors, Summerset!
As our Events Manager Emma Billings and I travel to The Big Sing regionals around the country this month, we look forward to connecting with our choral community around the motu. See you there!
Ngā mihi nui

Join us at our regional festivals We've rolled into June for another year and you know what that means - time for The Big Sing regional festivals, taking place in nine regions around NZ from 9-16 June! Tickets are now on sale for the gala concerts in each centre, with daytime sessions also open to the public.
Introducing our newest sponsors We're thrilled to welcome Summerset to our whānau of sponsors for The Big Sing. They say they are delighted to be a part of such a "brilliant event" and are "proud to support the talented Kiwis taking part right around the country". Find out more about Summerset: summerset.co.nz
Sing for peace, choirs of the world The International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) invites choirs to record songs about peace to feature on their World Choral Day playlist between now and December. And their official anthem for 2022 & 2023 is On the Road of Life, by NZ composer Chris Artley!
APRA: all you need to know Now that choirs are resuming concert performances at long last, it's a good time to check out your APRA reporting requirements. Don't worry - it's easy, and free with NZCF membership! Click through to our website for some helpful guidance.
