Future Junior Coders Thankful for Knight Foundation Investment

Mississippi Coding Academies (MCA) students ranging in age from early 20s to mid-30s look forward to a new career, with the help of a $50,000 donation from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Donor Advised Fund.

When it came to deciding how to make a tax-savvy charitable contribution to an organization they loved, Dave and Anna Treutel knew that donating their appreciated Microsoft stock could be beneficial both to them and to the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

Retirees who have turned 72 must now take required minimum distributions (RMDs) from your traditional retirement accounts, based on life expectancy/ mortality tables provided by the IRS. The penalty for not doing so is steep, at 50%.

Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Award Grant Cycle Closes on January 13th

The Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Award grant cycle is currently open through January 13, 2023. Up to ten $2,000 grants will be awarded to outstanding educators who submit projects with an innovative approach to helping children learn.
