Assalamu Alaikum Dear Parents,

Alhamdulilah, we've had a really successful and smooth first week of school.  New and returning students and faculty are adjusting well alhamdulilah.  As always, we have a jam packed month of September.  With the help of our amazing Events Coordinator, Amal Ali, and our amazing FTA Steering Committee, we will be hosting a few events this month.  Be sure to check out all the important dates below so you can come out and show your support for our school!

A few things to remember:
  • TA Dads & Jumuah Prayers: In order for us to have Jumuah on campus, we need 4 TA Dads to volunteer and sign up on our Jumuah Volunteer Spreadsheet.  Please help us host Jumuah at Tarbiyah Academy for our students by signing up.  May Allah (SWT) bless your time for helping instill a love for prayer in our students.
  • Learner Profile of the Month Competition: "Principled" is the learner profile attribute for the month of September.  We are starting our Boys vs. Girls competition this month.  During assembly, students listened to Aya 135 from Surat Al Nisa'a and identified words in the Aya related to the concept of Being Principled.  The Question for this month's competition is: Find the other aya in the Quran that starts in a similar manner as Aya 135 in Surat Al Nisa'a.  Students should put their name, verse number and surah name on a paper and submit it Thursday before assembly starts.
  • Dismissal: We've reduced dismissal time from 15 minutes to 10 minutes which is a huge accomplishment for a school that has 80 students.  Please be sure to come from Route 1.  No U Turns or left turns allowed on Business Parkway. Please also do not block the entrance to the Business Parkway business complex.  View Diagram for Details.
  • Uniform Reminders: Uniform violations will be given to students starting September 20th insha'Allah.  Please remember that outerwear must be from Dennis Uniform. Girls must also wear leggings/tights that are black or white ONLY.  No other colors allowed.  If the leggings are sheer/see through, please also wear black or white shorts. Hijab should be solid and plain (no shimmer...etc) black, white, or red only.  All girls and boys must wear their formal uniforms on Fridays including their ties. Please refer to the Uniform Policy.
  • PE will start the week of October 3rd insha'Allah.  PE pants should be black or blue. Colored stripes are allowed on the pants.
Tarbiyah Academy prides itself for its open door policy, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to stop by or send me or Ms. Azzam an email.  We love hearing from our parents and community members.

Jazakumu Allahu Khayran.  Assalamu Alaikum,

Rasha El-Haggan
