Attendees mingle at the NCFS Speaker Series

NCFS recently concluded our speaker series: Intersection of Science, Statistics and the Law. The series brought together attorneys, forensic scientists and academics to discuss the future of forensic science in America.  In this first year, our goal was to educate the audience on evidentiary value and the use of science and statistics in criminal litigation.  Speakers presented talks addressing the challenges of introducing modern-day interpretation of scientific results in the courtroom.
The long term objective of the series is to open a dialogue among these three fields by examining the topic of evidentiary value through the lens of each area of expertise.  Through mutual education and understanding, we strive to promote collaboration to solve the challenges of modern-day interpretation of scientific results and how best to address and mitigate these issues in the US.
