Just a quickie! We won’t be holding an open studio on the first Saturday in July as Nick and I are exhibiting at Sculpture By The Lakes, Pallington, Dorchester, Dorset for the Dorset Arts Festival!
This is very exciting (and just a tad scary) as participating artists are to demonstrate their work!
Not many people have seen me actually painting and there is a reason for this, probably 50% of my painting time involves my realising what I have just done is a disaster, sanding it out and starting again. Realising that is a disaster too, so go make coffee, despair setting in now fulled by caffeine overdose. Walk around studio sighing, take break to collect dandelions for my house rabbits (see below) and to clear head. Start again, and so it goes on, it’s certainly not a spectator sport (unless you actually like watching paint dry/paint being sanded off/observe sobbing artist…)
That aside, I am looking forward to partaking 😬, and meeting other artists that can work to an audience, damn their eyes!
'Moudra ' Oil on reclaimed wood panel. 175x78cm
Above is my latest large scale painting ’Moudra’! Painted on a shed door, a murder of crows, chattering and clattering their way across the landscape, maybe looking out to sea…
‘Lumi ’ Oil and gold leaf on wood 107x55cm.
Nick Andrew ‘Studies’ 18x18cm
Nick’s studies (above) will also be on display for the Dorset Arts Festival!
‘Flora’, Oil on wood panel 41x22 cm
And for those who are interested, here are my house rabbits, the lovely Muff and Dora!
