Joint Venture Silicon Valley has been telling the Silicon Valley story for the past two decades. Updated annually, it is a comprehensive report of indicators that measure the strength of our economy and the health of our community, highlighting challenges and providing an analytical foundation for leadership and decision making. The nearly 100-page report is a treasure trove of data that paints a holistic picture of life in Silicon Valley. A dynamic and interactive website allows users to download data and charts from the report to help drive business, policy, and other critical decisions for the region.
SAMCEDA has been a proud partner on the Silicon Valley Competitiveness and Innovation Project since its inception in 2015. It is a dashboard and policy scorecard to highlight our region and its competitive advantages. Data for each of the indicators is compared to key innovation regions in the U.S., including the New York City metro area, Boston, Southern California, Seattle and Austin, and also to global innovation regions in a few key areas. The Silicon Valley region is defined as Santa Clara, San Mateo and San Francisco counties. The 2017 update also includes new indicators on entrepreneurship and college readiness.
