Every year, IACMI members elect new representatives to the Collaborative Composite Solutions Board of Directors (BOD) and the IACMI Technical Advisory Board (TAB). We value our members’ leadership within our community, and invite you to participate in the election process, running now through May 15, 2018. Each IACMI member organization (consortium through charter members) is provided one vote, and the IACMI membership contact on file was emailed the link to vote by Zack Gardner, IACMI’s legal counsel. Global Composites Recycling Experts Gather in Knoxville, TN for ACMA’s First Recycling Conference

Recycling leaders from around the globe assembled last week at ACMA’s first Composites Recycling Conference held in Knoxville, TN to discuss technology and business developments making an impact in the industry. During the two-day conference, a group of nearly 100 experts gathered to share their knowledge and perspectives regarding sustainability, environmental and economic benefits, standardization, waste reduction, and more. LATEST IACMI AWARDS
Dr. Uday Vaidya, SPE Honored Service Member

Congratulations to Dr. Uday Vaidya for being recognized as an SPE Honored Service Member for his contributions to the society.  Dr. Vaidya has a joint appointment with The University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Oak Ridge National Lab, is the UT/ORNL Governor’s Chair in Advanced Composites Manufacturing, and serves as IACMI's Chief Technology Officer. He has 30 years of experience in a broad range of composites for defense, transportation and industrial applications. Dr. Vaidya is the author of the book ‘Composites for Automotive, Mass Transit and Truck’ and has over 300 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Larry Drzal, 2018 MSU Technology Transfer Achievement Award
Congratulations to Dr. Drzal on being awarded the 2018 MSU Technology Transfer Achievement Award. In addition to being IACMI's Vehicles Technology Area Director, Dr. Drzal is a University Distinguished Professor in the Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University, with nearly 100 inventions disclosed, over 400 peer-reviewed papers, 35 patents and 16 technologies licensed to industry. IACMI Recognition Award from UTK Society of Women Engineers
IACMI was recognized by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville's Society of Women Engineers (SWE) for sponsoring and supporting the SWE event, Tomorrow's Engineers Today. Tomorrow's Engineers Today is hosted annually, and each year introduces more than 100 middle and high school female students in the Knoxville, Tenn. area to engineering opportunities in their community through a one-day workshop on the UTK Tickle College of Engineering Campus. The UTK SWE chapter has been recognized nationally for their mentorship, and IACMI's support facilitates SWE's impact for female students in their campus and local community.
